Usual apologies for cross-posting....
An open learning course in research skills for public librarians is being
run from April 2000 by the UCE in Birmingham under the auspices of the
Public Libraries Research Group.
It is a re-run (with modifications) of the successful pilot course last
year which was part of the LIC-funded project Developing Research in Public
Libraries.
The course comprises 6 modules covering all aspects of the research process
tailored to public library needs, and students have one year (two months
per module) in which to complete it. Study days will be available.
The cost of the course is £100 per module or £550 for the whole course.
Heads of every library authority in the UK should have received a copy of
the course leaflet and registration form which can be freely photocopied.
Any list readers who would like further details are urged to contact me
personally as below.
