Hello everyone,
This is a call for information!
Ealing Tertiary College is in the process of reducing levels of library and other support staff across all sites for financial reasons (I won't go into the gory details), and is proposing to reduce the levels of library staff across 4 sites from 32 FTE to 21.6 FTE. If this goes ahead it will be impossible for us to maintain anything like our current levels of service.
Do any other list members have experience of similar situations, and how did you cope/ are you coping with the aftermath?
As a more general request, we would very much appreciate any information anyone can provide regarding the following:
- How many libraries/ LRCs/ LCs does your college operate at present?
- How many staff (FTE if possible, otherwise nos of f/t & p/t) work within the service?
- How many service points in total do these staff operate within the service?
- What are your opening hours?
- Are the current staffing levels sufficient? If not, are there any services you are unable to offer due to staffing shortages?
Please send your answers directly to me rather than to the list - I will summarise for the list.
Many thanks!
Regards,
Angela Wright
