Hello all,
Apologies for cross-posting.
Thankyou to all who responded to my plea for advice.
The summary is quite a quick one.
Although comb binding machines seem quite durable, the comb bindings
can cause problems and injuries for shelvers once the ends became
exposed.
The general consensus seems towards thermal binding machines and in
particular, the Unibind machine. Feelings are that they are robust,
the finished product looks professionally bound, the covers can
be re-used, and the machines can bind up to 150 pages.
We are going to investigate this type of binder, so thanks again for
your help and advice, it is appreciated.
