Genetically Modified Libraries! New Breed Or Hybrid?
Edinburgh Zoo April 13th 2000, 10am-4.45pm
The 2000 conference of AHIS UK&I offers a once-in-a-year opportunity to hear
speakers on subjects which specifically link animal health and information
needs. The speakers will be Dr Ian Mowat, Librarian to the University of
Edinburgh; Dr Martin Sullivan MRCVS, Glasgow University Veterinary School;
Andrew Charlesworth, University of Hull Law School on electronic copyright;
Andrew Booth, University of Sheffield on evidence-based medicine; Ruth
Jenkins of the BUILDER project; and Bryn Davies on the new ASVIN project on
veterinary information.
There will be opportunities for discussion with your colleagues and the
speakers ,and discussion on welfare issues when you see the penguin parade.
Edinburgh Zoo won the prestigious 1999 UFAW Zoo Animal Welfare Innovation
Award for its penguin cone feeder, which uses a traffic cone to deliver fish
to
the penguins to allow them to feed naturally under water.
Conference fee: £60 members; £70 non members (includes lunch)
