UNIVERSITY OF BATH IN SWINDON
SITE LIBRARIAN
Applications are invited from graduates with a qualification in Library
and/or Information Science and with appropriate experience, who are also
chartered librarians. The post is for an initial period of twelve
months, with the possibility of renewal.
Based at the University of Bath libraries, initially at both Bath and
Swindon, the post-holder will be responsible for the development and
provision of library and information support to the new campus library
of the University of Bath in Swindon, working closely with the Head of
Reader Services in this area.
As a Site Librarian you will take responsibility for the disposition and
development of stock and overall services of the site library, and the
supervision of library staff working within your area.
The Library works closely with the University Computing Services in the
provision of information services. Candidates should be very familiar
with applications of information technology in libraries, and have a
sound knowledge of the growing range of electronic information sources.
You should be able to demonstrate a professional commitment and a
proactive approach to ensuring the service meets the needs of its
users. You must be highly motivated and a good team worker with
excellent communication and presentation skills.
Salary will be in either the range 16,775 - 18,731 per annum, or the
range 19,482 - 25,213 per annum, according to experience and
qualifications.
