Vacancy for Staffing and Service Development Manager
£21 500 - £24 550 (Pay award pending)
This is a key post in our Learning Centre, which has a reputation for high quality and innovative practice in service delivery and
staffing arrangements. The Staffing and Service Development Manager is responsible for staffing, staff development and service development
policies across the department, along with responsibility for the direction of the Learning Centre's User Services.
With a degree or equivalent qualification, a minimum of three years experience in an academic services environment is required. A
recognised qualification in information science or librarianship would be an advantage, along with experience of academic libraries or
learning centres, and chartered membership of the Library Association. Experience of staff management, and knowledge and understanding of
the role of academic services in the teaching and learning process are essential. Ideally you will have excellent communication and
negotiating skills, sound judgement, the ability to develop, present and progress ideas, and to work under pressure. A commitment to the
highest quality services to users, a creative approach to work, and a wide interest in professional and academic developments are key
requirements of this post.
