A follow-up on the situation concerning access to Estates Gazette
Interactive -
Changes on the EGI Web pages have meant that they are encouraging personal
user log-ins rather than use of a generic username and password for each
institution as in the past.
Steve Lee (Glamorgan University Library) has been in touch with Egi as I
have, and the situation currently seems to be that you can still use the
generic username and password on the old version of the site. However this
old site will be phased out, probably by the end of the year.
To carry on getting access, users will have to register themselves, using
the generic username and password to get to the registration page.
Steve has managed to negotiate the continued use of the generic username and
password to actually access the new site, (as opposed to getting to the
self-registration page), but I think at the expense of users having the
option to have a personal login.
