Dear All,
As part of the analytical process of checking the appropriateness
of collections to curriculum needs, we run subject focus groups
with the undergraduate population. The aim of these focus groups
is to gather student opinion on the book stock and subject specific
resources, not to evaluate service provision. Problems arise
however, in getting students to attend these sessions, even when
arranged with the departments help. I would therefore be interested
in hearing from other librarians who are involved in running focus
groups and have similar problems or from anyone who has changed
their process of evaluation to a different forum.
Best wishes
Debbi
