DNER Collections Update from the JISC
*************************************

Academic Press Journals - As you may know the NESLI
Steering Committee has been unable to endorse the final
offer from Academic Press for IDEAL in 2001. We are
pleased to announce, however, that JISC has arranged for
BIDS to host the Academic Press archive for 1996-1999
(licensed through PSLI). More information will be made
available in due course by BIDS, and NESLI will clarify
hosting arrangements for year 2000 archives for any
institution not renewing its subscription.

AMICO Image Library - This online image collection is
now available for subscription at subsidised cost through
the JISC. Further information is available online at

Gale Infotrac + Newspapers - Negotiations are now underway
for FE journals and newspapers published by Gale. (Gale
has now been added to the NEW list of on-going negotiations
online at
http://www.jisc.ac.uk/dner/collections/negotiations.html)

Literature Online (LION) - We are pleased to announce that
terms have been agreed with Chadwyck Healey for renewal of
our agreement for Literature Online. Details will be
finalised at a meeting on 24 November. Banded
subscriptions will be available to HEIs. Subsidised
subscriptions will be available to FEIs. Many thanks to
all in the community who responded to the recent
consultation exercise on LION.

SCRAN Image Resource Base - This online image collection is
now available for subscription at subsidised cost through
the JISC. Further information is available online at
http://www.jisc.ac.uk/dner/collections/scran.html

New Web Pages - You may be noticing changes to the JISC
website as the team at JISC Assist are hard at work
sprucing things up! The collections webpages have moved
and are now available at:
http://www.jisc.ac.uk/dner/collections/ There you
will find pages providing a list of ongoing
negotiations, an overview of collections in the DNER, and
links to detailed information about resources
available for subscription (whether negotiated by CHEST,
NESLI, or the JISC). Check here periodically to find out
what's new, and let us know if you need a resource not
listed!
