Has your academic library conducted an "exit survey" in the last
couple of years? By this I mean something like a short
questionnaire administered to users as they are leaving the library,
asking them what they did during their visit and how successful
they were with finding materials, receiving help, etc. If your library
has done such a survey, would you be willing to share your
experience and give us pointers on pitfalls to avoid? Our survey
group at the University of Portsmouth is planning such an operation
for the second semester and would be grateful for any advice
colleagues in other universities can give. Replies to me please and
if there is sufficient evidence I will summarize for the list.
