Sources of Business Information
a one day training workshop

This one day training course provides an overview and evaluation of
business information sources available in print and electronic
formats. Participants will be introduced to key sources
of company, market and product information and to the British
Library's own comprehensive collection of business information
literature.
The course will help participants to:
Identify the key information sources for company, market and product
information
Understand how to track down relevant information, using practical
exercises, and get a sense of the strengths and weaknesses
of various resources
Learn about newer media , including selected online, CD-ROM and
Internet resources
Discover what relevant materials and services are available at the
British Library.

Who should attend
Anyone new to business information will find the course invaluable.
No existing knowledge of the subject is assumed.
The speakers
The course leader is Ros Cotton, Senior Information Officer in the
British Library Business Information Service (BIS). She is assisted by
Phil Bradley, author of The Advanced Internet Searcher's Handbook.
Other staff from BIS will contribute to the programme.

Bookings Policy
If you have made a booking to attend a course and something
happens to prevent you attending, please notify Maureen Heath. If you
are able to send someone else in your place or if you let us know more
than ten working days in advance no cancellation charges will apply.
Other cancellations, or late transfers to another date, are charged as
follows: Cancellation received within 10 working days of the course
50% of the fee; within 7 working days of the course 75% of the course
fee; within 5 working days of the course 100% of the course fee.
Working days are Monday to Friday inclusive. The British Library
reserves the right to cancel courses up to and including the date of
the course if insufficient bookings have been received. Delegates will
be notified and an alternative date will be offered or the course fee
refunded in full. The Library also reserves the right to make changes
to the programme. If a course has to be cancelled at the last moment
for other reasons outside the control of the British Library, the fees
will be refunded in total but the British Library cannot be held
liable for any other expenses incurred by delegates or their
organisations due to the cancellation.
