1. FE Workshops
Netskills will be running several workshops aimed specifically at
FE colleges in November and December.
If you work in Further Education in the areas of teaching and learning,
curriculum/course design and development or associated areas, and would like
access to FREE, or low cost, high quality teaching and learning resources
these workshops are suitable for you.
These workshops aim to raise awareness of the Joint Information
Systems Committee (JISC) and its services and to help identify, define
and discuss appropriate content for FE. This will provide an opportunity
to explore, discuss and provide feedback on JISC services for FE. The
workshops are part funded by the JISC and consequently attractively
priced at only £50 per delegate.
Currently planned workshops are listed below, however, more are
planned for the coming year.

3. Training Materials Updates
We are taking a short break from our monthly update
schedule as we upgradeour materials to Office 2000. Our next
module updates will be released in Office 2000/97 format and
by the end of our rolling 6 month update schedule, all materials
will be available in Office 2000/97.
We will continue to update and release materials in Office 95
for a limited period. However, users of the Office 95 materials
should note that the templates will not be supported and some
irregularities may appear in the formatting.
4. New Trainer Joins Netskills
Steven Boneham will be welcomed as the newest member of the
Netskills team at the end of November. Steven has a PhD in Viral
Immunology from the University of Nottingham where he has recently
been developing WebCT courses. Steven's WebCT experience will make
a valuable addition to the Netskills team despite the fact that he is
a keen Sheffield Wednesday supporter.
