Hello,
Sorry for cross posting but this may be of use to you. Thank you to
everyone who sent me replies. I am arranging a trial of this software
but the details on the website look good
Dear Mark:
I may have a possible alternative for your PsycInfo problem.
Last week, CSA announced the introduction of a new Psychology Database called E-Psyche.
Basically, it was designed for institutions such as Regent's College. Actually, it was designed for
the academic psychology end-user, the student and faculty member. Whereas, PsycInfo was
designed specifically for the clinical psychologist. It's coverage is 2X's greater that PsycInfo
(approximately 4,000 sources) and even includes sited references. The only draw back to the file
currently is that is has a limited backfile.
Further info can be found at:
http://www.csa.com/e-psyche/
Pricing is done by FTE. Right now CSA is offering access to the file free through the end of the
year. A few other advantages:
1) Web access/unlimited site access
2) Athens Compliant
3) Linkable to OPAC and your full-text e journals.
We are getting ready to begin discussions with EduServ in offering the file to the UK Academic
Higher Education. However, this may not transpire into a contract for months.
If you are interested in a trial, please contact my colleague Tirion Jones ([log in to unmask]) and she
will arrange this for you.
Hope this information is helpful.
Best,
Tina Long
