Keeper (Designate), Collection Management
Trinity College Library is seeking outstanding candidates for the
strategically important post of Keeper, Collection Management.
Initially, the person appointed will be responsible for the day to day
management of the division (which includes modern book and periodicals
acquisition via both purchase and legal deposit, bibliographic data
management, preservation and reprographics) while supporting the present
Keeper in the important areas of Irish and UK legal deposit and
copyright. From 1st January, 2001, the successful candidate will assume
the wider role. The Library is one of the six legal deposit libraries
for UK publications and the Keeper serves on a range of external
committees and advisory bodies within Ireland and the UK.
Candidates should have a good honours degree and a postgraduate
qualification in Librarianship or Information Science, together with a
minimum of five years' professional experience in an academic or other
research library environment. A commitment to quality of service and a
creative and flexible approach to problem solving are essential.
Salary Scale: £38,484 - £49,696 per annum.
