I quite agree.
This "appropriate use" debate is a recurring bad penny. One of the
main reasons I belong to lis-link is the wide range of topics that
appear on the list. I hit the delete key on a large proportion of the
postings, many without reading them, but have always found the
not too rare interesting/useful postings worth the use of the delete
key on the rest.
There are a myriad of other lists for people with specific interests
and my feelings have always been that provided it is legal anything
goes on lis-link.
