SLIM - SPECIAL LIBRARIANS IN THE MIDLANDS
THE LIBRARY ASSOCIATION & INFORMATION UNLIMITED
A SPECIAL RELATIONSHIP
SLIM invites you to come along to meet Judith Siess, a well-known
information professional from the USA and a recognised expert on solo
librarianship and interpersonal networking.
She has spent most of her professional career in solo libraries in industry
and in 1996 she set up Information Bridges International, to facilitate
exchanges of ideas among librarians and information professionals around the
world. She has written extensively about solo librarianship, including The
Solo Librarian’s Sourcebook and editing The One Person Library Newsletter.
Judith is on a study tour to the UK and would like to meet as many special
librarians as possible.
Come along for an exchange of views and to find out what’s going on in the
States. Judith would like to know what’s happening here and is particularly
interested to hear about your "favourites" -
· your favourite vendors (subscription services, booksellers etc)
· your favourite reference website
· your favourite reference books
Everyone is welcome to the meeting whether you are in the corporate or
voluntary sector, whether you’re in a one person library or a larger unit.
This FREE event is co-supported by the Library Association and Information
Unlimited, the Midlands-based information consultancy. The purpose of SLIM
is to encourage special librarians to get together for networking and
professional development. It is open to all special librarians in the
Midlands.
