1. "Process and Environmental Technology" from ESDU
---------------------------------------------------
The following is an announcement from ESDU:
"Methodology and Software Improves Process Integration, Heat Exchange,
Water Management, and Crude Oil Fouling Remediation To Save Design
Engineers Time & Money.
Engineering Sciences Data Unit (ESDU) has released several new tools and
technology to assist in complex design and retrofit analysis of
processing plants and equipment.
ESDU Process and Environmental Technology is a collection of guidelines,
methods, software and training developed to assist process designers and
engineers in new plant design and retrofit projects. These tools are
developed under the ESDU process ensuring validation by international
experts, best practice, and data that is practical, clear and concise in
its use and application.
ESDU provides solutions to problems encountered in key disciplines of
process integration, heat exchange, water management and crude oil
fouling. The collection includes a wide range of design guides and
software programs covering heat transfer and fluid flow mechanics for
process engineering applications. These technologies are applicable to
many industrial sectors including oil refining, petrochem, chemical,
steel, textile, food, and paper and pulp processing.
A team of international experts validates ESDU methodology. Only after
the team unanimously approves data is it released for general
distribution, producing a validated and trustworthy engineering design
tool. Some of the international companies who have participated in the
development of these products include BP Amoco, Elf, Texaco, EXXON,
Shell, Mobil Technology and Marathon Oil Company.
ESDU products are available through CHEST. For additional information,
visit the ESDU International Web site at www.esdu.com and the CHEST Web
pages at http://www.chest.ac.uk/datasets/esdu/ "
2. PsycINFO update
------------------
The details for both Service Providers are now available on the CHEST
web pages (http://www.chest.ac.uk/datasets/psycinfo/) and we are
awaiting
the review of the suggested revised data pricing from the JISC. As soon
as
we have received this we will make it available and Sites will then be
able
to start subscribing to this agreement.
