Library Schools.com: is the future bright for professional training?
The University, College and Research Group (Scottish Section) is
holding an afternoon meeting entitled, 'LibrarySchools.com: is the future
bright
for professional training?', in Seminar Room H22 at Glasgow Caledonian
University Library on Thursday 26th. October 2000.
As the Library Association moves closer to unification with the IIS,
as electronic information takes over from print and as IT competence
becomes a prerequiste skill, what sort of information professionals
do we need for the future and how are the professional educators responding
to the challenge? This meeting will address these and other issues and maybe
provide some of the answers!
The speakers will be Rita Marcella (Robert Gordon University), Paul
Burton (Strathclyde University), Jim Herring (Queen Margaret University
College) and Stuart James (Paisley University), with Alistair Duff
(Napier University) in the chair.
The meeting starts at 1.50 pm (registration from 1.30) and will finish
around 4.30. Tea and coffee will be provided.
Cost: £15.00
