MCB has asked us to forward the following information to you. Please

"For those of you who subscribe to Emerald Intelligence + Fulltext or
who are considering doing so, Emerald has recently launched a range
of library and user training resources.
The comprehensive range of resources have been designed to help you
get the most from your journal or database subscription and may be
used 'freely' within your organization. Whether you're a librarian
looking to promote Emerald in your organization, or an end-user
unfamiliar with the database, you should find these resources
extremely valuable.
It currently includes:
* Downloadable posters to use in your library
* Emerald Update, a quarterly newsletter designed to keep you up to
date with content and licensing changes
* Quick Start Guides for using Emerald
* Emerald Administrators List an e-mail service to keep
subscribers informed about improvements and amendments to the database

2. JCR Year 2 invoices
----------------------
This is a reminder of a message which was sent last week to the
chest-wos mailbase list.
This is advance warning to Sites licensed for JCR that the Year 2
invoices will be raised and sent out over the next two weeks. Your
Institution will receive them if you did not give thirty days notice
to cancel the subscription before 31st July 2000.
3. FE subscriptions to Ei Databases
-----------------------------------
CHEST is pleased to announce the availability of Ei Databases to FE
Insitutions. EduServ and Elsevier Engineering Information Inc (EEII)
have reached agreement whereby FE Institutions are able to subscribe
to the Ei Compendex Agreement for a much reduced price.
The Subscription fee is £850 pa (plus VAT) and allows for a
one year annual subscription in the first instance and a
commmitment thereafter for the remaining two years. This service
includes access to Ei Compendex*Plus, Ei Page One and Engineering
Village2, direct from Hoboken in the States.

4. Access to the New FirstSearch
--------------------------------
OCLC has issued the following:
"Many FirstSearch libraries may already have moved their users to the
new FirstSearch. However, we would like to issue a further reminder
that from this coming Sunday, August 20, access to the current versions
of FirstSearch and Electronic Collections Online will be discontinued
and users will be automatically directed to the new service when they
log on to FirstSearch."
