The HERON project is just completing its first pilot year
and now has space for additional members from the UK HE
community. HERON is currently investigating the
possibility of extending its service to the FE sector,
and would be pleased to establish contact with anyone in FE
who is interested in the HERON service.
The HERON Project was established to support and smooth the
pathway towards the greater use of C&IT in learning and
teaching and improve access to library materials. It does
this by offering a seamless access to copyright clearance
and digitisation of key teaching materials. In this way,
HERON removes two of the most complex and time consuming
aspects of the provision of digitised learning materials
thus freeing up library / learning support and academic
staff to pursue more essential aspects of their work.
