Director of Strategy and Planning for Resource
London, 7 July 2000 - Stuart Davies has been appointed as the Director of
Strategy and Planning at Resource: The Council for Museums, Archives and
Libraries. He is currently Museums Policy Adviser at the Heritage Lottery
Fund (HLF), where he is working on the museums needs assessment project.
Stuart will join Resource on 2 October.
Neville Mackay, Chief Executive of Resource, commented: "We are delighted
that Stuart Davies will be joining us as Director of Strategy and Planning.
His senior management role will play a central part in defining the
strategic needs and priorities for Resource and its sectors. His wealth of
experience will be a valuable addition to the organisation."
Stuart Davies added: "I am very pleased to be offered this challenging role
and look forward to joining Resource at such an exciting time in its
development."
Prior to his role at HLF Stuart was a lecturer in strategic management at
Leeds University Business School for four years. During this time he
produced By Popular Demand, a major strategic analysis of the market
potential for museums and galleries in the UK, published by the Museums &
Galleries Commission. He has also worked for Kirklees Metropolitan Council
as both Assistant Head of Cultural Services, 1989-1991, and Policy and
Performance Review Officer, April 1991-December 1993.
