I have been commissioned with the arduous task of performing a risk assessment on the use of
any person electrical equipment (primarily laptops) within the Learning Resource Centre
environment.
Due to the design of the majority of our building, power supply is via floor boxes under tables,
this as you can imagine causes lots of problems of trapped wires etc. Has anyone got a
solution for this problem other than locking the floor boxes down?
The other issue that interests me is general policy, do other institutes have designated areas for
'plugging in' or do they impose no restrictions at all? Does anyone carry out safety checks on
personal equipment to ensure they are safe to use?
At this stage I would welcome any suggestions.
Thanks in advance
