I use a search facility (free) from ATOMZ (http://www.atomz.com/) and they
give me a service that when I index my website with them - one of the stats
is a word count of the whole site.

Subject: Web site word count
Hi group,
One of our lecturers is submitting an academic Web site for the RAE and
needs to give a fairly accurate word count, the site is quite large and it
would be a long job to import everything into word! Has anyone heard of a
smart way to calculate the plain text word count?
Regards,
Julie
