When EMail addresses and telephone numbers identify individuals they are
private as far as DP is concerned. If you have generic addresses, eg. EMail
the finance office, or here is the deparmental telephone number it is OK.
If you apply the law to the extreme then without express permission you would
not be able to publish either EMail or Tels, and as getting express
permission will be a nightmare we would have a big problem. It seems to
me that the Commissioner is allowing us to included everyone, inform them and
ask them to opt out if they so wish. At least we are getting a bit of common
sence over the law :-)
If it helps at all .... :-)
