Dear Yun,
A possible explanation is that the * img files for which you are trying
to modify the origin already have *.mat files associated
with them. It is my understanding (through John Ashburner) that SPM uses
the information (e.g. the origin) contained
in these *.mat files preferentially. So, even though you might have
successfully changed the origin in the *.hdr file, the
origin from the *.mat file would still be shown when you use DISPLAY. If
such *.mat files are deleted, then SPM will revert to using
the *.hdr file information.
Sincerely,
Eric
