Last chance!!!
We need to know by 5.30 today (25 April) if we have enough
participants to go ahead with this meeting, if you would like to
come, call or e-mail Keith Lowry at the Foundation or me as STEMPRA
Chair.
A copy of the original posting follows:-
STEMPRA and the Foundation for Science and Technology are organising
a one-day meeting on 'The response of learned and professional
societies to public attitudes to science', at the Royal Society, 6
Carlton House Terrace, London SW1 5AG on 2 May 2000.
This seminar is timely in the light of the publication of the House
of Lords select committee's report on public attitudes to science and
the imminent publication of the Wellcome Trust/OST survey. The
meeting will provide an overview of the findings and recommendations
made by these surveys and will go on to examine what some societies
and organisations are already doing in this field.
Cost:- 40 pounds per person. Cheques to be made payable to 'The
Foundation for Science and Technology' and sent to:-
Mr Keith Lowry, Learned Societies Liaison Officer, Foundation for
Science and Technology, Buckingham Court, 78 Buckingham Gate, London
SW1E 6PE (Tel 020 7222 1222, Fax 020 7222 1225, e-mail
[log in to unmask]).
Please note that the Foundation is handling the administration for
this meeting. Please send payment and address any queries to the
Foundation, not to STEMPRA.
