Assuming this is the book that I have seen, it is hardly new. My copy
was published in 1976; the comments on the future prospects for the
coal industry reflect that era!. On the back there was an approving
review from the left-wing newspaper "Tribune" and I got the
impression the author had something of an axe to grind. It largely
deals with the history of the mining unions. For some reason most of
what should have been contempory photographs appear to have been
taken in the 1950s. Having said that, I didn't think it was a bad
read (although it is a long time since I looked at it) but it seems
to be aimed at the general reader.
