I'm sceptical as to the use of this website. The 1st edition OS maps are a
very useful resource for mining history but the quality of reproduction of
the maps on the above site and the lack of dating information makes them
more than useless. The coverage is not total and number of mining sites
covered is sparse. Go to Pembrokeshire, Llanfyrnach, and you are presented
with 25" OS sheet XII:15. At the NW corner of the map is part of the
Llanfyrnach Silver Lead Mine. The resolution on my VDU is reasonable but the
detail of the site was lost, neither was it possible to print out a
reasonable copy - as the image was compressed east to west and out of
proportion.
Mind you, what to you expect for nothing these days :-)
