I have received a query on the Park Slip Colliery disaster (below). I can
provide some basic details an sources as follows -
Park Slip (or Parc Slip) Colliery disaster was an explosion on 26 August
1892. The official report was published as a Parlimentary Paper 1893-4
C.6942. Glamorgan Record Office, Cardiff, hold some papers relating to the
subsequent Relief Fund.
Can anyone provide more detail?

Hi, I'm hoping you can help me. I work in Barnstaple Reference Library and
we have been asked for information about a Welsh mining disaster at Parc
Slip in about 1898.I have found an open-cast mine called Parc Slip near
Bridgend which has been re-devloped as a countryside park. But I can find no
mention of any disaster. Can you help at all ? Or can you point me in the
right direction, any help would be great as I'm stuck!
