Dear David,
It is obviously a principal with NAMHO to ensure that their regs. - let alone
my own principals - and many others I am sure - that anyone involved, in any
way whatsoever with u/g expl. or other research, leaves what they see or find
where it is.
However, the only exception - only - is that if the artifacts are in imminent
threat of either inundation or total cut-off, must go to a proper museum or
repository. Even then, it must be under 'official' guidance rules. There are
many museums capable of preserving artifacts, and as far as the Lake District
is concerned, please, all, and anybody finding artifacts, in the North
Country, yet again please ensure that they go to the Threlkeld Quarry &
Mining Museum. If you haven't seen this place please do so, once you have you
will understand why. Kind Regards, Bernard
