Roger, assuming that the piece is solid, you could work on about 2.7 tonnes
per cubic metre. This is the density of calcite which will be the main
constituent of your rock.
You may see it called the specific gravity - s.g. which is effectively the
metric density.
The thing is, how accurately do you need to know?
Sorry it's metric, you will have to convert. (the numbers, I mean).
