Thanks for the information; unfortunately it is not quite as
simple as that!. There are several Westons mixed up in Rees's
account; his index confuses them (and indeed does not list every
mention of them). Pages 426-30, 32 refer to John Weston (not Thomas),
active in the 1580s in Cornwall and elsewhere. The Weston who was
company treasurer had a son called Thomas, involved in some dodgy
dealings in the 1640s (the reference in Pg 592). As far as I can see,
Rees does not actually give the full name of the Weston I am
interested in. My interest in this is to see if there might be any
connection between the family of John of the 1580s (who died in 1584)
and the subsequent Westons involved with the Mineral and Battery
Company. Without even knowing the Christian name of Mr Weston, the
company treasurer, this is something of a challenge..
