William Woodhead and Son Ltd. appear for a few years in the
Yorkshire (WR) and South Lancashire section of the post 1921 returns.
The site cannot be matched for certain with any pre 1913 works but has
been placed here since the company's registered office was Lawns House,
Farnley. (cf BT 31/17872/90290.

Further poking around yields a couple of other clues -

Pennywell Road, Somerset (ST6073)

1857 Langford and Co. 1 1

1861 George Chick 1 0
1862 George Chick 1 0
1863 Keeling and Chick 1 0
1864 Keeling and Chick 1 0

Notes: 1857 In Blast for a few months only

And even more tenuously in the entries for Hirwaun, Brec. for 1864 and
1865 is an entry for Hinde and Cosham (as spelt). Make of that what you
will.

I always knew that this book would be of some use sometime. Cheers.
