Early/Classical Music: E. Nakamichi Foundation
Subject: Early/Classical Music: E. Nakamichi Foundation
Information as of May 9, 2000
**********************************************************************
SCOPE: The E. Nakamichi Foundation is inviting applications for grants to
support performances of early, Baroque, and classical music.
DEADLINE: A letter of inquiry is due September 15 [2000]
FUNDS: Grants range from $15,000 to $35,000 for one year.
ELIGIBILITY: The Foundation makes grants only to qualified tax-exempt
organizations and not to individuals. Public broadcasting grants are
awarded only to the broadcaster, and inquiries and applications for these
grants must come directly from public television/radio stations.
AREAS: The Foundation encourages the propagation and appreciation of
early, baroque, and classical music. Generally, the Foundation
accomplishes this by underwriting performances and/or their broadcast on
public television/radio. Grants are not made to individuals for
independent study, research, travel or participation in a musical event.
The Foundation does not award grants toward capital campaigns, endowments
or deficit operations, nor does it make grants for the construction or
maintenance of buildings or for the purchase of equipment. Furthermore,
general support grants are not made.
APPLICATION PROCEDURES: There are no special grant application forms or
guidelines. Prospective grantee organizations should consult
<www.enfoundation.com>.
Generally, a brief letter describing the organization, a summary of the
proposed grant, and the amount of the proposed grant will suffice. If the
Foundation has an interest in the project, the prospective grantee will be
asked to submit a full detailed application. Proposals submitted by fax
will not be accepted.
