The programme for the Institutional Web Management Workshop which will
be held at the University of Bath on 6-8 September is now almost

The workshop is the fourth in a series of annual events aimed at members
of institutional Web management teams in the UK HE and FE communities.
This year's workshop has the theme "The Joined-Up Web". It will address
the development and deployment of new generations of Web services and
the integration with existing services. Speakers at the workshop will
describe the deployment of database-driven Web services and the
deployment of technologies such as WAP, the deployment of user-driven
services, personalised interfaces and the integration of Network
Learning Environments with Management Information Systems. As well as
case studies of existing systems, delegates will also hear about
important new strategic developments including developments in
e-learning and the e-University, Web-enabling an organisation and the
Hero portal. Other talks will highlight developments to Web standards
and the approaches which can be taken when commissioning Web site
development.
The organisational, resourcing and managerial aspects of Web site
management will not be forgotten and will be addressed in a number of
discussion groups sessions. The discussion groups sessions with cover
e-learning, e-commerce, integration of Web services, automated news
feeds and working with the Hero portal.
The cost of the workshop has been kept low, with prices starting at 230
pounds, which includes two night's accommodation and a social programme
on the two evenings.
