Can I ask colleagues in F.E. if they have a policy for replacing current
"textbook" type books that will be out of date under the new curriculum.
I know they will still be valid for the current first years, but we have multiple
copies of GNVQ and A-Level texts. If we decided to replace them all
at once it would cost a fortune, but we will certainly need some new
editions. I'm also concerned about students on the first year of a course
mistakenly using old editions. I know that fundamentally a lot of the
material is the same but it could be misleading if the units are different.
Also, bearing in mind that many publishers are announcing expected
publication dates of September, how on earth are other folks coping?
Thanks in advance,
Liz Wyman
