DEALING WITH POST-16 CHANGES - reminder
The recent government White Paper 'Learning to succeed: a new framework for
Post-16 Learning' has proposed sweeping new changes in educational provision
for students at 16+ involving schools, Social Services and careers agencies.
The Educational Librarians Group of the Library Association has organised an
afternoon seminar for librarians and teachers on 17 October, 1.30 - 5.00 pm,
at the Department of Educational Studies, University of Oxford.
Speakers will include Geoff Hayward, Dept of Educational Studies, University
of Oxford; Lara Thomson, Former Learning Resources Manager; and Chris
Talbot, Sixth Form Director, Central Foundation Girls School, London.
The afternoon will include presentations on the Implications of the Changes;
a Case Study of One School's Response; and Implications for Resource
provision. There will also be an opportunity to share experience in open
discussion.
Cost £40+ VAT, including coffee and sandwiches at 1.00 pm. Discounts for
part-time, unwaged.
