Dear all
this is a rather long document but it is *very* significant for all
health librarians as it is the Education, Development and Training
strand of implementing Information for Health.
At the first consultative phase Librarians were not consulted
or included, but some of our more high profile colleagues eg
NHS Library Adviser and some others (including our own Linda
Ferguson?) weighed in and we are now included both in the strategy
and in the list of organisations taking part in delivering the
strategy (NHS Regional Librarins Group representing you all).
It can be downloaded from the following website:
http://www.doh.gov.uk/nhsexipu/develop/nip/together.htm
the really relevant bit if you are short of time is
ETD Strategy annex E: IM &T professionals and other specialist
support staff. E1 is about Librarians.
same address as above except that after nip type
annexe.htm
Happy hunting all you embryo Knowledge Managers!
Regards
Valerie
