Dear Graham,
Here at Arrowe Park, we paid for MIRON on a 5-8 user licence for 3 months.
Our subscription is up in June, and I dont think we will be renewing it. It
has been terrible.
I also trialed Ovid recently, and that seems quite good. But Miron has been
a disaster. It takes an age just to load up the required years for
searching, and users are frequently frustrated by how slow it has been.
I spoke to Andy Taylor at Optology, and he advised me that a new version of
Miron is near completion, but for speed of access it may be better for us to
continue using our tower, until the upgrade has been perfected.
Although Miron seems an ideal networking solution, I would strongly advise
you to trial it extensively first.
