Hi Vicki,
Your require one of the MapInfo Tools called Universal Translator which may
or may not come installed on the MapInfo CD.
TRY these OPTIONS
OPTION 1 ( if only a Tab file is required)
Step1
under Tools menu open Universal Translator and access its dialogue box
Step 2
under Source select Format - ESRI Shape.
under Source select Format - select the appropriate ArcView Shapefile.
Step 3
under destination select Format - MapInfo TAB.
under destination select Format - select appropriate directory to save the
file.
cancel Translator dialogue box.
Step 4
under the File menu select - Open Table.
select the "tab" file and open.
Step 5
the map file should now open and be visible in a new browser window.
SECOND OPTION (if MID/MIF and TAB files are required)
Step1
under Tools menu open Universal Translator and access its dialogue box
Step 2
under Source select Format - ESRI Shape.
under Source select Format - select the appropriate ArcView Shapefile.
Step 3
under destination select Format - MapInfo MID/MIF.
under destination select Format - select appropriate directory to save the
file.
cancel Translator dialogue box.
Step 4
under the Table menu select - Import.
the converted file "fileneme.mif" should now be available from the above
directory.
Step 4
select the "mif" file and open and save as a "tab" file.
Step 5
open a new table or browser window to view data and map.
