Hello everyone
I'm having trouble withy the non-zero magnitude *Boundary application in heat
transfer modeling.
I have an initial non-uniform temperature distribution which is then required
to be reheated to a uniform temeprature by *boundary. Abaqus does this either
by a step function or ramp according to how you define the *step amplitude. All
temperatures are increased to the specified final temperature in a relative
fashion according to the ramp or step function based on their diference to the
final temperature - i.e. the temeperature difference is reduced to zero at a
node through the *step.
I however want a non-linear reduction of the temperature change to zero. So I
specified this non-linear reduction with *amplitude and put it on the
*boundary. What now takes place is the absolute temperatures are manipulated
acording to this amplitude definition and not the difference in temperatures,
even though value=relative is on the ampiltude. It has the effect of putting
all temperatures to the same value instead of changing them relatively
according to my *amplitude defintion.
Can anyone help?
Lee
