This is pointless. And I have never declared a view on sustainable
development on this list recently. Just another example of a presupposition
that is incorrect John. Read back over the last few weeks. I happen to
believe the earth is a finite closed system but for one thing - energy from
the sun - so photosynthesis is a vital key to our survival (and PLEASE don't
mention solar cells to me, I couldn't bear it). I also have no idea where
you got "a prior" from. Have a re-read. But it doesn't matter. I am
slightly curious to know what constructive comments you have about a
substitute for the free lunch of photosynthesis for our energy needs John.
Like, how are you going to balance the energy costs and ozone depletion from
flying all the eco-tourists all over the world? But on second thoughts,
perhaps not. I am apparently in the "non-environmentalist" "exploitative"
camp. You, on the other hand, are an "environmentalist". It is - as you
say - a choice (an either - or) of preservation OR non-preservation - good
guy saver OR bad guy despoiler - ethical OR unethical - a world without
people OR a world with people. No room for the AND. God help us, because
obviously we are not intent on helping ourselves. Give me a break.
