There's nothing at all wrong with them promoting a little fear in the
general scientifically illiterate public -- SOMEthing needs to wake them up
-- and hyperbole is a time-honored method used by proponents of this and

Many e-groups HAVE shot themselves down with mis-information. Back years
ago when I worked as staff director for one of the environmental committees
in the Florida Legislature there was an environmental lobbyiest who preached
doom and gloom of the lowest order; everyone soon learned not to listen to
him. He was fired, and the replacement was a lot more rational.
