Not necessarily. Many of these "improvements" come at a high cost in energy
resources at some stage of their development or use. That won't be
sustainable. Ever.
I prefer the term "ecologically sustainable." Standing by itself, without a
host of qualifiers (or apologizers), "sustainable development" comes very
close to being an oxymoron.
