Dear Enviroethics subscribers,
The Jiscmail server now seems to be working, as is moderation on this list.
Jiscmail have not explained what went wrong. I hope it does not happen
again.
Regarding the future running of the list, I am going to leave moderation
on for a while longer. This means there will be delays between sending
messages to the list and their arrival, having been approved or rejected
by me. However, I will go through this process at least once each day,
and many more times when possible - e.g. if I am sitting by my computer, I
can do it every hour.
Regarding acceptance or rejection of submissions: I will not accept messages
containing profanities or other offensive discourtesies. If I reject any message,
I will inform its originator, who will have the chance to argue
with me (and Jim, the other list-owner, if they want) or edit and
re-submit the message.
Significantly off-topic messages may also be rejected. The present
argument on the statistics and data of climate change is significantly
off-topic, and I ask that it now be taken off-list, either to private
discussion or to a more suitable forum, such as one of the following
jiscmail lists:

You can find out how to join them at www.jiscmail.ac.uk
Note that these lists are archived, just as Enviroethics. So if
anyone wants to publically set the record straight on anything
said in Enviroethics, this can be done just as effectively on one
of these other lists.
Thanks.
Regards,
David (a list-owner)
