This question wasn't for me, but yes I certainly believe lots of
things without proof. I believe the number 2 added 2= four.
and other basic things, do you realize if we had to prove
everything, we'd spend our whole lives proving things and accomplishing
nothing.
Now hitting on a few comments from all, I'd like to say this.
Animals have certain behaivors, some we deem as natural.
Some we may deem as even provocative for a creature other
then ourselves. My problem is this in terms of measuring this
behavior. How do we know what behavior for what animal is what it
seems? I have a family of feral cats that live my backyard. They
seem to have this very organized system for living. The mother
cat hits the kittens when they don't come, certain cats eat first,
they play at certain times. I have never been able to lay my hands
on one of them till this year. It was kitten, it has become friendly
enough to come inside, and the cat is very lovable to me now.
However, when it goes outside, and the other cats are around,
The cat will not come to me, because the mother cat will swak it.
Whats my point? Does this cat have a different moral system, then
the other cats, or does it understand something further then behaivor?
It is interesting investigation. But I think what Adam is saying is
these animals do not come out of nature, and we do. Which I think
is catch 22. Are we really out of nature, or is it an illusion we are.
Everything we make comes from the earth, just we leave waste
behind in bigger levels. It just leaves us with these ever begging
questions. In my mind there is no doubt animals, have some type
of systems, lions in families, fish in schools, exct. This is not automation,
the problem is we don't fully understand the functional
behaivor of these systems, in comparison to what we call complex
moral systems.
Have a good night,
Li-
