Dear environmental ethicists,
I would appreciate any comments on my new website, "Steady State
Revolution." The website provides a link to my new book, "Shoveling Fuel
for a Runaway Train: Errant Economists, Shameful Spenders, and a Plan to
Stop Them All, " which becomes available this week. Part 1 of Shoveling
Fuel dismisses neoclassical economic growth theory, particularly the
principles of perpetual substitutability and increasing productive
efficiency, on ecological grounds. Part 2 prescribes the steady state
revolution, the aim of which is a stable, stationary GNP. I am
particularly interested in how environmental ethicists would view
proactive castigation of the liquidating class, which I as an ecologist
(but amateur ethicist) view as parcel to a conservation ethic and
prerequisite to ecological and economic sustainability.

(I would, of course, also appreciate any feedback on Shoveling Fuel.)
