Dear friends,

Its that time of year again when I publicise DRS_NEWS and hope
that a few more folks will sign up. This time of year seems to
catch either the beginning or the end of the academic year
depending on your geographic location.

Shortly, I intend to do the rounds of the various email
distribution lists with a short note about the benefits of
obtaining DRS_NEWS regularly. As many of you will no doubt be
members of those lists too, I will apologise in advance for the
multiple copies. But I will keep it short.

This month, the membership of the mailbase list that sends
DRS_NEWS has exceeded 2000 for the first time. This makes this
list one of the largest anywhere, in any subject.

However, we could do a lot more in building our e-community.
Considering the number of potential readers out there who have a
relationship to design in the universities and colleges (staff
AND students), in consultancies, research centres, and in
industry, we have a potential membership which is far greater.

Could I ask you a favour? Could you forward the message below
to your colleagues, and especially research students you may
know, and encourage them to join us? Thank you.

FREE INTERNATIONAL DESIGN RESEARCH NEWSLETTER: DRS_NEWS

Please tell your COLLEAGUES and especially research STUDENTS
about this newsletter.

DRS_NEWS is a digital newsletter promoted by the Design Research
Society. For nearly 5 years the newsletter has communicated
announcements of conferences, funding, competitions, articles,
book reviews etc. related to design research to an international
audience.

This audience comprises practitioners and educators in all areas
of design practice (including art & design, engineering,
architecture, systems, management, CAD, etc.), together with
design history, the philosophy of design, design theory, and
related subjects such as ergonomics, psychology, and computer
science.

Over 2000 key researchers around the world receive the
newsletter every month.

Please note that this is NOT a discussion list - only the
newsletter will be sent.

DRS_NEWS will be mailed to you automatically at the beginning of
each month and it is absolutely free. You may subscribe easily
at the following site:

With best wishes,
David
