which is what we all have to be?? --I only intended to make this point,
that if we go on calling everything from chalk to cheese and apples to
oranges, modernist/postmodernist, we may well feel stuck. Now i am aware
you dont just attach pm to m with a slash, but there must be a tendency to
overlook the weight of that 'post' and assume a continuity from M to
pm...else 'modernism' wouldnt be included in pm. This double-category is
one big stuffed valise by now. Find new rubrics, distinctions will follow.
The fresh praxis is already in place, has been for decades. Remove that
fusty 'modernism' and more will become visible.
But i question whether any of this will get the suits out of their ties, or
discourage the architecture of domination. That will have to be achieved
thru a political revolution. And that wont happen before the world crash
of 20?? . Meanwhile, since i for one never liked the term
'post-modern,'--why put yourself down by taking the name Harry Conick
Junior?-- let me advocate its termination. 'Present writing' will do jes'
fine. Start there, the sub categories will quickly follow, like it or not.
('Me an my friends will be around to see you one of these dark nights').
