Re. chris's qualms about the name of the list - this prompted me to go back
and check it. The actual name of the list when it was in Mailbase was
British and Irish Poets, but this didn't fit the Mailbase format so
"british-poets" was adopted. I still recall that the list I joined (a fair
while ago now) mentioned the Irish bit. I'm not so worried that it's been
"edited" out (I'm not very Irish anymore) and our lovely listmembers are the
last anyone would call anglocentric, but it did act as a kind of antidote or
shadow over what would always be a misnomer anyway.
By the way, the recent discussions on poetry and translation were good. Does
anyone know of a discussion list specifically devoted to poetry and
translation?
